On 10th January 2023 we premiered a film that has been made in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland about The Forget Me Notes Project and the work we do. It captures beautifully the power of music for people living with dementia.
We are grateful to all those who featured in this film, and to Paul Tucker, Bettina Talbot and Nick Jenkins from University of the West of Scotland along with all the students who worked so carefully and sensitively to produce this.
In summer 2022 a group of Forget Me Notes gathered in person and online at the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh. We were joined by the talented singer/songwriter Gus Harrower, who worked with us to write a song. During the course of just an hour the Forget Me Notes song emerged, and has been an important part of our choirs and other groups since then. It manages to express so much of the power of music and what we think makes Forget Me Notes special. In autumn 2023 some funding from 'Luminate' enabled us to work with Marty Hailey at Metro13 music to record this song, and you can have a listen to the result here!
